Still having fun buying up items to equip Minsc with. The latest buys:

Minsc should have a purple cape in his clothing inventory, right? Hopefully the fabric is decent quality and it drapes nicely! Anyway, it’s a low cost addition at under $15 total with shipping. Sent via speedpak from China and shipped right away. Should arrive some time next week. (My last Speedpak item delivery got here surprisingly fast.)

The (die cast metal) mace is pretty fancy looking as befits an enchanted item (5% chance to Stun the target). And the design seems a fairly good match with the Stupifier that the Enhanced Edition added to the game. Roughly in the same ballpark anyway. At any rate, I’ll think of it as the Stupifier.

And for the offhand if one chooses the dual wielding maces route for Minsc, I’m still trying to decide what to use. Mace? Morningstar? Flail?

You may be thinking wait, what? Other than a mace in the offhand? Well, a couple decades ago back in the Tutu mod days you could dual wield maces, morningstars, and flails interchangeably with the same bonuses as if using two maces. EEs changed that to restrict to just the chosen weapon only, here maces. But actually even now when playing the EEs the Tweaks Anthology mod allows one to do that again, i.e., to get the same bonuses as two maces when dual wielding a combination of maces, morningstars, or flails. And for display purposes it may well look cooler using a morningstar or flail in the offhand.

I decided to have the head sculpt that Pedro Lujan of LUX sculpt designed for me by Craftcloud. They quoted me a price of $30. Using “High-detail resin [which] is ideal for printing intricate details, such as small figurines and model cars and trains.” In natural gray. Should arrive in about a week or so.

BG fans at the r/baldursgate subreddit were genuinely excited to see this work on progress!

I took some stills today. Still trying to get the head sculpt printed.

Here’s the video I promised of all the gear I’ve assembled for Minsc. I’ve got to say, it’s looking really good so far!

Mad props to Gustavo Bautista Ponce for making such an excellent studded leather chest armor piece for this figure. Just awesome work.

Next step is to get the head sculpt printed. I’m in search of someone in the 1/6 artist community that can print this thing! Please recommend anyone you feel will do an excellent job printing automated head sculpts.

Yesterday the Persian soldier pants and the Scottish Claymore sword both arrived. They’re fantastic. (Note: I got a refund on the Viking pants which went MIA in the mail.)

Here’s some quick photos. Before putting it away I added also the red cape just to get a quick glimpse. But today I’ll be making a video of the entire assembled body with all clothing and gear, i.e. including the leather chest armor, satchel (home for Boo), and over-the-shoulder strap for the sword.

Well, or I should say it’s the completed body with gear sans Boo. But I’m gonna have Boo custom made as well eventually. He’ll be designed to either sit in Minsc’s palm or to stand on his shoulder. And I can also have Boo’s head peering out of the satchel.

Anyway here they are:

Here’s the red cape. It’s a good quality fabric and will drape nicely. Color is a little distorted by iPhone camera, looking a bit more burgundy or cherry colored here. In-hand it’s redder.
